This sour cream chocolate cake is 3 layers of heavenly cake with a creamy chocolate frosting.
Preheat oven to 350F
Grease 3, 9 inch round pans
Combine cocoa and boiling water, and set to cool
Meanwhile in a mixer, beat sugar and butter until creamy, add eggs one at a time, and lastly add vanilla.
In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Alternating between flour mixture and sour cream add to creamed butter mixture. Lastly add the cocoa water.
Pour batter into prepared pans, and bake for 30 -35 minutes. Insert a toothpick and make sure it comes out clean to see if they are done. Let cool and remove from pans, and put onto wire racks to cool completely.
Chop chocolate, and melt with butter in a small sauce pan, Remove from heat.
Meanwhile combine icing sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a mixer until smooth.
While beating sugar, slowly add melted chocolate until fluff.
Spread icing evenly between layers, on top and sides
