This milk chocolate cake recipe is creamy and delicious.
Preheat oven to 350F
Grease and flour 2 - 9 inch round.
Melt chocolate on low heat, in a double boiler, or pot filled with water and a bowl on top. Set to cool.
Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Beat together sugar and butter. Add eggs in one a time, and beat in till well incorporated. Mix in vanilla. Slowly add in melted chocolate and mix well.
Alternating between flour mixture and buttermilk. Mix into the creamed butter and sugar. Pour into prepared pans, and bake for 33 to 38 minutes, or until and inserted toothpick comes out clean. Set to cool, once cool enough to touch turn out of pan, and let cool completely on a wire rack.
Once cooled completely, cut cakes in half.
Melt chocolate with butter in a small sauce pan, Remove from heat.
Meanwhile combine icing sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a mixer until smooth.
While beating sugar, slowly add melted chocolate until fluff.
Spread icing evenly between layers, on top and sides
