Pesticides In Baby Food? The Findings Will Shock You.![]()
Pesticides in Baby Food? The Findings will Shock You. Really? Yep. Current USDA 2014 pesticide monitoring of hundreds of applesauce, carrots, peaches and pea baby food found that 1/3 of the peach baby food samples violated the European guidelines for pesticides allowed in baby food because they contained one more pesticides in concentrations higher than allowable. Keep in mind though, that these are the European guidelines. The U.S. has no special rules for pesticide residues in baby food. In 2014 396 applesauce baby foods were tested for toxic pesticides. 18 percent of this sample found nervous system disrupting toxins higher than suggested for babies to consume. 14% of apple juices had 6 pesticides that have been banned in Europe but not the U.S. Carrot and peas were pretty clean, without significant pesticides found. Here we are wondering why there are more and more children have difficulties concentrating, having difficulties losing weight, and having difficulties with things in life that should not be so hard. The solution: As always, buy organic when possible, petition your government, pay attention and make your own baby foods in a blender choosing ingredients that you know are clean.
