Even Better Then Raspberry Keytones? Garcinia Cambogia For Natural Weight Loss![]()
Garcinia Cambogia: The key to weight loss? If you have any access at all to public television, internet or radio you may have heard this foreign sounding botanical word being thrown about as being the new magic weight loss pill. Garcinia Cambogia. So what is the deal? Garcinia Cambogia is a plant that is grown for the fruit mostly in Asia, India and Central Africa that was mostly used in cooking curries and has a slightly sour flavor. Sometimes it is called a tamarind and when added to food can help them become more 'filling'. It is similar in size to a grapefruit, has anti bacterial qualities, and also has the ability to enhance digestion. In the past several years though, this fruit has been showing up in the world of weight loss. How does it help weight loss? The main reason why this fruit has been researched is that the extract (Hydroxycitric Acid) may be helpful in blocking appetite, by increasing the level of serotonin (sort of the happy hormones) in our brains. If we are not hungry and we are happy, then maybe we will not overeat, right? The other physiological effect is that this extract, is that certain compounds within it have the ability to block the conversion of carbohydrates to fat. Also a good thing if you want to lose weight or maintain weight loss. What does the research say? Digging into the clinical research (using PubMed database) is mixed and confusing at best, with some studies showing positive findings (ie. increased weight loss for some people) and others showing that weight loss with this extract was no greater than the placebo effect (the power of the mind in affecting change in the body). When I read studies like this, which I have been doing for many years now, it always begs the question to me that perhaps it really comes down to the person trying it. Science tries so very hard to make studies controlled, but in fact that is impossible since we are all so entirely different from one another. How can they compare 2 groups and factor out genetics, beliefs, emotions which all play a part in how our bodies will process food, supplements and just about anything we put into them. So, in the end, I want to give you some sort of final weigh in on the subject, which is that if trying the garcinia cambogia supplement for weight loss is something that resonates with you, then you should try it, but at least try it with an open mind so that you can at tap into the power of your mind along with the power of the fruit. One thing research is showing with certainty, is the power of your beliefs, so if you are trying something with scepticism and disbelief, then I am pretty sure that it will not work for you.
