3 Baking Tools That I Wish I Bought Years Ago![]()
3 Baking Tools that I Wish I Bought Years Ago If you are a kitchen gadget lover like I am, there are some tools that just make time in the kitchen so much smoother. When we started filming videos for Grandmother's Kitchen, there were a few tools that truly made our lives neater and easier, so in case you did not already know about them, here are 4 new tools that are worth every penny. 1. Silicone Pastry Brush (rather than the bristle kind) The main reason I love this tool is because it is so much easier to clean that the bristle brushes and has a variety of uses. Main uses: * Greasing cake pans or muffin tins * Adding a bit of butter to the tops of breads or buns once baked * Adding chocolate coating when decorating strawberries 2. Double Boiler For melting chocolate at a perfect pace there is nothing like a double boiler that is sealed from top to bottom so that there is no chance of water splashing up. This is a tool that I use almost daily for melting chocolate and for making 3. Scale If you plan to bake and use recipes from all over the world, do not underestimate the importance and helpfulness of a kitchen scale. I recommend finding one that displays as many units as possible since recipes shared on the internet will not do the converting for you. It is an empowering thing for an intuitive baker to be able to look at a hunk of chocolate and learn how many ounces or grams it is. What are some kitchen tools that you can't live without?
