Walnut Brownies With Ganache Topping Recipe

Make a batch of walnut brownies, coated with a delicious Ganache for dessert today!

Ingredients

Brownies:
11 Tablespoons butter
6 oz. dark semi-sweet chocolate, cut into small pieces
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup walnuts, chopped

Ganache:
6 oz. dark semi-sweet chocolate, cut into small pieces
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 Tablespoon butter,at room temperature

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Lightly grease an 9x9-inch pan with butter.

In a small saucepan,using low medium heat, melt the butter and chocolate. Shut off and set aside to cool a little.

In a mixing bowl,using an electric mixer on medium speed mix together the eggs, sugar vanilla and salt.

Add the cooled melted chocolate/butter into the mixture and beat in.

Add the flour and mix in with low speed, just enough to incorporate.

Use a wooden spoon to stir in the walnuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and place into the preheated oven.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs attached.

Remove and place onto a cooling rack to cool.

When brownies are completely cooled, coat with Ganache.

Ganache

Place the chocolate pieces into a heat proof bowl.

Bring the heavy cream to a boil in a small saucepan, and pour it over the chocolate pieces and let stand for one minute.

Gently whisk in the butter, until both the butter and chocolate are melted.

Spread ganache on cooled brownies. Let stand about 15 minutes until set, then cut into pieces.
