Sweet And Spicy Chicken Wings Recipe

These sweet and spicy chicken wings can be super hot or you can keep them at a low to moderate amount of hot by controlling the level of cayenne and Sriracha you use in the recipe. These wings are sticky and sweet from the honey in the glaze. Super delicious for your wing night!

Ingredients

Makes about 6 servings
3 pounds chicken wings without the tips
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
2 cloves fresh garlic chopped into fine pieces
1 cup honey, divided
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot
2 teaspoons Sriracha
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.

Rinse the chicken wings in fresh cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Place the wings onto the pan and season with the freshly ground pepper.

*Note: If you want to have easier clean up, line your baking sheet with aluminum foil first and grease the aluminum foil with olive oil.

Place the wings into the preheated oven for 15 minutes to start baking them prior to putting the sauce.

While the wings are baking, slice your garlic into fine pieces and stir it into 1/2 cup of the honey.

After 15 minutes, remove the wings from the oven and brush on the garlic and honey mixture with a pastry brush. Use metal tongs to turn the chicken pieces as you want to get both sides coated.

Place the wings back into the oven and set the timer for30 minutes.

While the wings are in the oven, prepare the sauce.

In a small mixing bowl stir together the honey with the melted butter and red hot sauce. Do a little taste test before you add the Sriracha and cayenne pepper. Now based on how hot you want these wings to be, stir in some or all of the Sriracha and cayenne pepper and stir to combine well.

While the wings are baking their 30 minutes, use a pastry brush to baste both sides, every 10 minutes, flipping the wings with the tongs.

When the timer goes off, turn the heat up to 400F. Bake the wings for another 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes before taking them of the pan and serving.

Tip: It may get a little smokey in the last phase of the cooking so you may need to turn on your fan.
