Cheesebread Recipe

Here is a cheese bread that tastes its best fresh from the oven. This dense chewy cheese bread has that comfort food rustic quality you can have made in less than an hour.

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
3 large eggs
1/3 cup whole milk
1/3 c. olive oil
6 oz.cheese, coarsely grated (you can use cheddar, gruyere, or a cheese of your choice)

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Grease a loaf pan generously with butter.

In a large mixing bow, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper.

Break the eggs into a medium size mixing bowl and whisk them. Add in the milk and oil and whisk in.

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, pour in the wet and using a spatula gently fold in until just mixed.

Fold in the grated cheese.

Place into the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few crumbs attached.

Remove to a cooling rack and let cool for 5 minutes in the pan.

Turn out onto the wire rack and let cool.

This is the very best when fresh from the oven.
