Brownie Sunday Recipe

Ingredients

Brownie
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
5 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Chocolate Sauce
6 ounces (170 grams) semi sweet chocolate, chopped
or 1 cup dark chocolate chips
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
pinch of salt
pinch of cinnamon

Garnish * optional, maraschino cherries


Directions

Brownies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease an 8x8 inch square cakepan with butter.

Put all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and use and electric mixer to mix together well.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Place into the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Allow to cool before cutting.

Chocolate Sauce

Measure out the chocolate in a glass or metal bowl and set aside.

Use a small heavy bottom saucepan to heat the cream, corn syrup, vanilla salt and cinnamon over low heat.

Bring almost to the boiling point.

Pour the hot liquid over the chocolate and let it sit for 5 minutes without stirring, then once the chocolate has had a chance to melt whisk to combine.

You can use warm over your fresh brownies.

Assembly

Cut a piece of brownie, put a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Spoon on some warm chocolate sauce and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
