Banana Loaf With Chocolate Chips And Nuts Recipe

Yum, There is nothing like the enticing aroma of fresh baked banana bread.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 cup cooking oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F.

Grease a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with butter.

In a bowl stir together the flour, cooking oats, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts.

Using an electric mixer, beat the butter until fluffy.

Beat in the sugar until well combined.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time until well combined.

Beat in the mashed banana, lemon juice and vanilla.

Add the dry mixture a little at a time to the wet and mix in.

Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and place into the preheated oven.

Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

Remove and place onto a cooling rack for 10 minutes.

Turn the loaf out onto rack and cool.
